About Us

About Us – A little bit of magic and a dream…

Providing a shoulder…

We started as the dream of a village halls’ advisor to build a network of like-minded people to support village/community halls in the county. Over a decade later we are an independent, sustainable CIO with a focus on listening, sharing experiences, working together and offering opportunities for networking and development. No problem is too small or large to be shared, and we have a wealth of experience to help our members – and encourage members to help each other. We can provide a sounding board for ideas and a shoulder to cry on when things are tough – and help people get through hard times.

Quality meets a little bit of magic…

East Riding Village Halls Network has a dedicated team of trustees, all with direct experience within community buildings.  We are warm, caring and knowledgeable, providing advice that is well researched and current.  If we can’t give you the answer we will know someone who can.

Making things matter…

We currently have a membership of some 104 community buildings.  We recently held our (March 2026) bi-ennual conference (every 2 years) at Holme on Spalding Moor Village Hall where there were 80 representatives from our member and some non-member halls.  See “Home Page” to view a video of our conference in both short and full versions.

In fact, if you are a community building, and a non-profit organisation you can join our network.
